The death of Christ on the Cross is the central act in the Christian faith. Underappreciated, perhaps, is the place of God’s grief represented by it. God grieves not only for His Son, but also for all those who choose to reject the salvation won for them.

A New World Order
The war against Iran demonstrated the change in the world order brought about by President Trump. We already see governments around the world re-arming or upgrading their weapons systems as they absorb the reality of the new order. Holy Week reminds us that God’s way is radically different.

The Night Is Far Gone
2025 saw the overturning of the established world order. It witnessed the heart-breaking destruction of ordinary people’s lives. But Christmas reminds us that a king has been born before whom all knees shall bow and all powers will be held accountable. Jesus Christ is our certain hope.
