This Labour Government Disappoints
The present government disappointingly appears to only react to populist sentiment. Governments should lead public debate and be prepared to speak openly and honestly about the choices facing the nation. Failure to do this simply leaves a vacuum which prejudice and populism gladly fill.

Easter is a time of deep reflection and rejoicing for Christians. This year a song from Jesus Christ Superstar helped me to to reflect more deeply than perhaps usual.

Jesus Wept
By the policies they pursue against the Palestinians, the Israeli leaders turn away from their inheritance. Christ still weeps over Jerusalem because they fail to recognise the path to peace.

Hostile Environment
A “hostile environment” to immigration was inculcated by the then Home Office Secretary, Theresa May. This seeks to make it as difficult as possible for people to prove they are citizens. There should be no doubt that such a culture is incompatible with biblical vlaues.

Not A Matter Of Right And Wrong
In a world where right and wrong are not important considerations the way Christians live in their everyday lives matters even more. By behaving as those who live in the light, Christians push back against the encroaching darkness.
