How are the NHS and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ linked? The NHS in its original aims and principles is arguably an expression of the Kingdom of God. As such, preserving it and enabling it to flourish should be the aim of every Christian. In this way, we hasten the return of Christ.

The passing of the Rwanda Bill illustrates the dysfunctional nature of our democracy. British governments are able to force through legislation at will and MPs have little incentive to challenge their parties. They are little more than voting fodder for their parties.

Tears in Heaven
While heaven may be a place of unalloyed joy for those who are saved, for God it is, perhaps, different. His heart must surely weep for all those who are lost and as Jesus wept over Jerusalem, maybe He weeps over His church for harshness and unforgiveness towards one another.

It’s not often recognised that Jesus’ Palm Sunday entrance into Jerusalem was the fulfilment of Ezekiel’s prophecy of the return of the Glory of God to the restored Temple. Understanding how Jesus fulfils this prophecy propfoundly shapes our understanding of the Middle East today.
